Bulletin Boards and Rising Danger
The bulletin boards show up when characters are updated on the situation, registering the rise in danger around them. In Jack’s case, it is danger he causes. For Wendy, Danny, and Halloran, it concerns their proximity to Jack’s decisions. No.37 uses a green-and-tan board that also recalls No.44’s carpet; No.51 is Jack’s first bulletin board. Repeated boards connect No.37 with No.52, No.16 with No.65, No.19 with No.74, No.38 with No.79, and No.51 with No.83.
