The Trike

Danny’s trike becomes a semi permanent feature in his scenes. It’s his freedom and it’s how the viewer gets a larger view of the layout and stylings of the hotel.

It’s shown in-frame and behind Jack as he reads the Playgirl magazine, it’s shown as Jack throws a tennis ball down the Lobby Hallway, and it’s shown as Danny tours The Colorado Lounge (No.23), the 2nd Floor Hallway (No.30), and the West Wing Living Quarters Hallway/Green Hallway into the Grady Girls (No.38).

It’s a medium blue and because the camera is positioned behind Danny and the trike for quite a few sequences, by the time he’s seated at the 2nd Floor Hallway with a blue sweater in No.44, we don’t realize the trike is gone and referenced only by the color.

The Tricycle as Danny

The tricycle connects the toy to Danny through No.10, No.23, No.30, and No.38. Danny’s blue clothing in No.44 signifies the blue tricycle.
