Jack and the Tuxedo

The tuxedo connects Jack with the men at the Gold Room party and with the figures who have encouraged his identification with the hotel. His conversations around mirrors have already connected his image with theirs. I compare this visual merging with Danny and his blue trike in the lead-up to No.44: repeated costume and object associations prepare a later image to carry more than one identity.
