Bears are a repeating theme that show up in the Boulder Apartment in Danny’s pillow, as well as within The Overlook in a few spaces: in Danny’s bedroom, in the chandeliers (which are bear traps), and a Bear Skin rug that appears (and disappears) in The Colorado Lounge.
Due to where they show up, they are a theme heavily tied with Danny.

Danny + Bears
The bear pillow and Danny’s face create the symbolic connection between Danny and bears.
As a tiger, elephant, and lion peek over the corner, Danny’s face is aligned with a bear, and bird stickers are plastered all over Danny’s door. Tony is referred to via Tony the Tiger in the pantry, and bears and birds are connected strongly with Danny within the hotel.
