Jack’s Dream

No.45—D:Image 759

thematic reflection

Jack’s dream, an indication of Jack’s (version) of Tony.

Danny sees things that he will encounter in his version that we see (No.6).

Here’s how Danny describes it to Halloran (No.19);

Danny:

It's like I go to sleep, and he

shows me things but when I wake up,

I can't remember everything.

Danny sees REDRUM, and repeats it (No.54, No.71) and eventually writes it on the bathroom door.

Jack’s dream where he chopped Wendy and Danny up in little pieces could essentially be this, and him seeing No.72 play out as if he’s the victor.

thematic reflection

Jack’s dream, a direct reflection of No.5—D:Image 118, and No.53:

Also conflates Jack’s dream with what Ullman tells Jack (and the viewer) about Charles Grady’s actions in 1970, and who Jack encounters in a 1920’s party in The Gold Room: Delbert Grady.

So the comparisons here and the reflections could be summed up as “Dream Reality”
