A theme shown in subtext, in imagery, and in reality: predator & prey is rampant.
From Tom and Jerry, Roadrunner and Wile E. Coyote, Jack’s behavior with Danny in No.41, the portraits of dogs and birds, the stuffed animal heads, the Native American blankets, how Jack stalks Halloran in No.77 and scares Danny out in No.79. The entire maze sequence, how Jack taunts Wendy with “Little pigs, little pigs”.
All of this speaks to predator and prey.
