Peanuts

Peanuts can refer to a few things:

1) euphemism for a small amount, especially getting paid. To be paid peanuts is to be paid practically nothing.

2) Danny’s bedspread and curtains are of Peanuts characters, a comic strip by Charles Schulz about Charlie Brown and other children. Other Peanuts characters, Snoopy and Woodstock, are shown as stickers on Danny’s door. It would be a normal child thing to have in the 1970’s/1980’s.

3) Literal peanuts, often used as a bar food. Jack is shown next to them while he’s woken up in the pantry.
